I pull out 10 euros to pay for breakfast.

the 3 waitresses look at me and smile. "no, it's okay. thank you for the music today."

I start laughing because I think they're joking.

they're not.

:)

let me explain (+ video at the bottom)

this is a restaurant I go to often. one of my favorites in town. I just wanted an omelette.

but it was empty. no other customers. so I pulled out my guitar and started practicing at the table next to the waitresses.

I'm on day 3. I got 4 days left to play a full song. I sound terrible.

but they actually wanted to give me a free breakfast because of "the positive energy" I brought with my music.

I smiled for the next 4 hours.

I just got paid an omelette to play bad guitar!

here's the thing I keep noticing:

people at the office, friends, strangers - I ask them: "can you play guitar?"

no, they say.

"do you want to learn?"

yeah, but I don't have time.

they think it takes years. they think you need talent. they think you need to read music first.

I'm on day 3. I can't read music. I'm just using apps and YouTube tutorials.

and people are already smiling. enjoying my awkward attempts. singing along to “let it be”

when is the last time you had fun with music?

not just listening. actually playing something. sharing it with friends or loved ones.

it doesn't have to be good. mine isn't.

but it makes life more beautiful. I really believe that, I’m feeling that.

try it. pick up an instrument. sound terrible. make someone smile anyway.

want to join?

pick an instrument. any instrument.

guitar. ukulele. flute, buy something cheap

give it 7 days. Maybe you will find the thing that will change your life for better.
