here's the image in my head:

beach in Italy, in my hometown. bonfire. friends around. someone hands me a guitar.

and I can actually play!

that's why I'm learning to make and play music this week.

Guitar to start.

Would YOU like to make or play music?

I tried once, five years ago. no real results. gave up. moved on.

and I've felt bad about it ever since. because I remember enjoying it. I just never pushed through the awkward beginner phase.

sound familiar?

this week's challenge: play one song in 7 days.

the song: "let it be."

I'm starting from zero. I just got an ukulele but I'm upgrading to a real guitar in 24h.

let's see if AI can help me do what I couldn't do in five years.

why guitar?

because anyone can start.

you don't need to spend a lot of money. you don't need lessons. you don't need talent. you just need a cheap guitar, some patience, and maybe an AI coach or a YouTube guy to guide you.

the value? playing music for people you love. around a fire. on a beach. at a party. wherever.

that's worth 1 week of practice.

something I've been realizing:

I enjoyed going on top of a mountain and enduring 30 minutes of cold. I felt alive.

I enjoyed lifting more than I thought I was capable of.

I enjoyed coding an app from nothing.

I enjoyed talking to strangers even when it scared me.

there are so many beautiful things in this life we can enjoy.

if we just f*cking try them.

most of us don't try. we assume we can't. we assume it's too late. we assume we're not the type.

but you are. you just haven't started yet.

want to join?

pick an instrument. any instrument.

guitar. ukulele. piano. harmonica. whatever you have access to.

give it 7 days. let me know where you're stuck. we'll figure it out together. maybe AI can help us both.

reply and tell me: what instrument would you learn if you had one week? or what song?

see you soon,

alex

p.s. if this works, I'm playing "let it be" on an Italian beach this summer. you're invited.
