Skill learned last week: cheesecake baking
Skill learning this week: gardening
Ciao, it’s Alex from 53skills.com again!
I got home Thursday destroyed.
Long day, stressful.
Then my mom at 9:32 PM said: “let's make the cheesecake.”
I almost said no. I had nothing left.
BUT week 22 of this mission was cheesecake making, and a skill you skip is a skill you don't learn. So I said fine.
An hour later the stress was gone!
That surprised me enough to write about it.
Because the cheesecake was never really the point.
3 things I learned

The reset nobody tells you about
Here is what I noticed. The second my hands were busy, my overthinking stopped.
You can't doomscroll and crack eggs at the same time.
You can't replay the bad meeting while you're crushing biscuits for the base.
Your attention has somewhere to be, and it's not in your head anymore.
Doing it with my mom made it better. We talked about nothing.
We laughed when I messed up the gelatin.
For one hour the day had a completely different shape.
I went in tired and came out lighter.
The cheesecake in the fridge was a bonus :)
It's a great gift you can give to people
This is the part I didn't expect to care about.
Once you can make one good cheesecake, you can make it for anyone! 🙂
Friends. Family. The person whose birthday you forgot.
And people lose their minds over a homemade cheesecake.
It costs you a few euros and an hour. People remember who made them something.
A skill like this isn't just for you.
It's something you get to give away for the rest of your life.
And no, it's not hard
I want to kill the excuse before you reach for it.
I am not a baker. I had made 0 cheesecakes before Thursday.
I used AI and it worked on the first try.

Here is the actual move:
I told the AI what I had in the kitchen and asked for a beginner cheesecake recipe using only that.
I asked it to write the steps like I'd never baked before. No fancy words, no assumed knowledge.
When something looked off mid-way, I described what I was seeing and asked if it was normal. It talked me through it in real time.
I asked what the 3 most common beginner mistakes were, so I could avoid them before they happened.
That's it. No course. No three-hour YouTube rabbit hole. A real result the same night.
This is the whole logic behind 53skills.com
The wall in front of most skills is smaller than it looks, and AI just made it smaller.
The takeaway
The fastest way out of a bad stressful day might be a task for your hands, not a thought for your head.
So this week, pick one tiny skill you keep putting off.
The recipe, the guitar, the garden.
Spend one hour on it, Maybe with someone you like.
Use AI to skip the boring part.
Then tell me how it went.
and now week 23: we do GARDENING!
Reply and send me your questions or tips 🙂
