Yesterday, something happened that you should know.

Anthropic, the company that made Claude, announced that their AI can now control your computer.

not just answer questions. not just write emails.

it can open your apps, click through your browser, fill in spreadsheets, navigate slack, manage your calendar.

they're calling it "computer use."

I'm calling it the beginning of the end of office work.

funny because this week, for week 13 of 53skills, I'm building… a chair!

with my hands. MANUAL WORK BABYYY!

the timing is almost too perfect

for 12 weeks I've been learning digital skills

coding: AI writes code faster than I ever will.

images: getting there.

writing: basically there.

but try to ask ChatGPT to build a table or fix a sink!

manual skills are quietly becoming the most future-proof thing you can learn, because AI is doing the digital stuff.

but NOT woodwork, plumbing, constructions, electrician.

what I'm actually building, to start:

a simple chair. You can do it too! or a table.

and I’m starting to feel something I haven't felt in years: making something real.

not a google doc. not a social media post. not code that lives on a server I'll never see.

a physical object with weight and feel in my house.

fun fact for the boyz:

a survey found that almost two thirds of women prefer men who are handy over any other type. and 34% said they'd consider leaving a relationship for someone who can actually fix things.

I'm not saying go become a carpenter to get a wife. I'm saying that if AI is going to do our tech nerd desk work, we need to figure out what makes us valuable beyond the desk, for the family.

RESULTS by Sunday

I'll either be sitting in a chair I built from scratch, or I'll be sitting on the floor next to a pile of broken wood.
